In 2012, after years of trying every recommended treatment, I discovered the Varroa Controller. Since then, I've stayed one step ahead of Varroa from the very beginning of each season. Best of all, I can make full use of the nectar flow, knowing the dreaded damage threshold is no longer a concern.
When is the Varroa Controller treatment performed?
The Varroa Controller isn't a device with a spec sheet — it's a seasonal protocol that knocks the mite load back to near zero three times a year.
Mites and their offspring are eliminated as soon as the first 2–3 frames are capped.
Capture, remove, and treat mites in the Duplex-Framebox on summer solstice or earlier, depending on the nectar flow.
Prepare colonies as best as possible for overwintering mid-september to mid-october. Be able to respond to possible re-infestations at any time.
